When you launch MacType for the first time, you can pick from dozens of preset rendering styles. Just select one, click apply, and you'll instantly see the difference. Each style adjusts key elements like hinting, anti-aliasing, subpixel contrast, and stroke weight. You can also build your own custom profile from scratch.

App-specific rendering profiles

Beyond a global setup for your PC, this program lets you fine-tune font settings for individual apps. That way, you can boost readability where it's needed without affecting everything else. Because MacType works at the system level, it applies to nearly all programs that use Windows font rendering— like browsers, office apps, or code editors. MacType is also compatible with GDI, GDI+, and DirectWrite, so you won't run into software conflicts.

Powerful control with editable profiles

MacType stores settings in editable INI files, making it easy to tweak details by hand if you prefer. You can create and switch between multiple profiles from the control panel, letting you adapt your display to different tasks or environments on the fly.

Lightweight and efficient
